SUMMER SESSION 2003 SIGN UP Posted on 4/21/2003

We are accepting applications for our SUMMER 2003 session Jr. Volunteer program. You may download an application from the web site or call if you need more information. Be sure to include a teacher reference and a copy of your immunization records. What a great way to spend your summer. Not only are you helping your community but you'll also be having alot of FUN! Don't miss out the summer program fills up fast!

 
JR. VOLUNTEER SELECTED FOR AWARD Posted on 4/21/2003

Ashley Gibbs, Jr. Volunteer at Deaconess Medical Center is a 2003 Spokane Scholars Foundation Medallist. Ashley received 2nd place in the Mathetics catagory and is awarded a $2000.000 scholarship. Ashley volunteers in the Emergency Department at Deaconess Medical Center.

 
VOLUNTEERS TO SIGN IN BY COMPUTER Posted on 2/22/2003

Deaconess Medical Center's Auxiliary purchased "VOLUNTEER WORKS" a volunteer management software program and the hardware to support it for Volunteer Services. Volunteers will sign in using the Volunteer Information Center component of the program with designated computers and touch screens. Computers will be located in the Health & Education Center and the main building for the convenience of the volunteers. "We are anticipating May 1st as our kick off date for this new process, says Joey Frost, Manager/Volunteer Services. Due to the generosity of our auxiliary EHS volunteer services continues to grow. By implementing new processes our volunteer programs can continue it's ongoing support of the mission of EHS in a more productive and efficient way".

 
JR. VOLUNTEER PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS Posted on 2/22/2003

Empire Health Services provides scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors participating in our Jr. Volunteer program as part of our ongoing committment to our Jr. Volunteers pursuing a career in a healthcare related field. Deaconess Medical Center and Valley Hospital & Medical Center may award, one (1) or two (2) scholarships at each facility. This year Deaconess Medical Center's Auxiliary is providing an addditional scholarship award of $1000.00. Eligible applicants must be graduating Deaconess Medical Center Jr. Volunteers pursuing a healthcare related career. APPLICATION DEADLINE: MAY 16, 2003.
