The Deaconess Medical Center College volunteers program focuses on students who are enrolled in pre-medical, nursing, pharmacy, and/or students interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare environment. This opportunity allows the student career exploration.

Purpose of the Program
The student observes the knowledge and skills used everyday working side by side with healthcare professionals. The student gives service without receiving payment, understanding the direct impact volunteering has for the organization and the benefit it may have toward their future career choices.

The organization and fellow co-workers support the College volunteer program. They understand the value this important program represents to our future generation of caregivers.

Students are considered based on their application, references, screenings, and a formal interview with Volunteer Services.

Applications must include a letter of reference from a college professor, character reference, UNOFFICIAL College transcript and verification of MMR (Rubella/Rubeola) measles immunizations.

Applications are accepted on a continual basis and are dated when received. Applicants are interviewed based on the date received, session rotation and available openings in the program. If openings become available, you will be contacted for a formal interview prior to the next session rotation.
